Everyone loves bacon (sorry, vegetarians & vegans)! So, when we found out that International Bacon Day was on September 1st, we were ecstatic! Although many people only think of bacon as a breakfast side dish that’s eaten plain, we’re here to tell you that it’s so much more than that. Good bacon has the ability to transform nearly any dish by packing it full of flavor and texture that really takes it to the next level. We love incorporating bacon into our dishes at Top of Waikiki, which is why we’re the perfect place to celebrate International Bacon Day! If you’re not sold just yet, we’ve compiled eight reasons that are sure to give you a bacon craving- just keep reading!
This one is for all you seafood lovers! Our Diver Scallops are caught fresh daily and the perfect start to your dinner. These scallops are delicious on their own, but adding in local corn and our Applewood-smoked bacon cranks them up a notch and really excites your taste buds!

- Goat Cheese Rangoons
You may have tried an appetizer like this before, but these rangoons are next level! With Hawaii Island Dairy goat cheese from Big Island, adding in bacon helps cut through the creaminess of the goat cheese and gives it nice texture. These rangoons are rich but you won’t be able to resist eating all of them!
Goat Cheese Rangoons ($12) – Deep-fried Hawaii Island Dairy goat cheese and filled with bacon and chives with five-spice dipping sauce.
- Hawaii’s only revolving restaurant
That’s right, we’re the only revolving restaurant in the state of Hawaii! Located 21 stories high, we offer the best panoramic views of Diamond Head, Waikiki Beach, and the Honolulu city lights. Talk about a memorable evening- what better way to celebrate International Bacon Day than slowly revolving on top of Waikiki? (We can’t think of one…)
